Nickel coatings provide a high-gloss surface with a yellow-tinged shimmer on almost all metallic materials. Nickel displays good resistance to corrosion with appealing consistency. Nickel is generally deposited with copper and chrome in multi-coating systems; matt nickel coatings can also be prepared (see semi-gloss nickel and velour nickel).
