Copper-nickel-chrome
Brief technical description:
- Copper/nickel/chrome is the best coating system to combine high corrosion resistance with an excellent appearance. The good elasticity of the copper substratum balances out tension between the component and the coating. It ensures good adhesion, acts as a leveller and forms a corrosion barrier. The type of copper-plating finish used determines the final gloss effect of subsequent coatings. Irrespective of the coating thickness selected, nickel is highly corrosion-resistant. Chrome is a high-strength and tarnish-resistant material. Its good corrosion resistance is comparable to that of stainless steel. When combined, these three materials form excellent coating systems.
Numerous substrates can be coated: from aluminium and steel to stainless steel, brass and copper and even Zn die-cast and sintered metal components.
Advantages:
- extremely high corrosion resistance
- high degree of hardness and abrasion resistance
- resistant against many acids and alkalines
- functional and very decorative coating
Please note:
- The gloss levels of the coating system may be varied by either using an upstream polishing process or by using matt nickel in the intermediate coats. Contact us!
